1. How to Use Cognography
Cognography is a simple tool to understand how you perceive, judge, and structure reality — a Cognitive Positioning System (CPS) like GPS, but for your mind.
Start
- Go to Cognography.xyz.
- Explore or rotate the grid.
- (Desktop): Right-click to rotate. Use the mouse wheel to zoom.
- (Mobile): Pinch to zoom. Use one finger to turn the grid.
- At the centre, you’ll see a small pyramid of golden blocks: a single block at the top, two side-by-side blocks in the middle, and an illuminated row of three blocks at the base.
- Top single block → Terms of Use
- Middle two blocks → How to use the system (FAQ)
- Bottom illuminated three blocks (“BODIN”) → Interactive assistant that determines your coordinate
- In BODIN, choose a Conversation Starter:
- “Getting started with Cognography” — overview of all 27 coordinates
- “Map your coordinate within Cognography” — quick test (more context → more accurate)
Notes
- The more that is mapped within the grid, the more interesting Cognography becomes.
- The three-question test provides a quick, low-accuracy coordinate. For more precision, reflect on how you truly perceive, judge, and structure your life. The more context you give, the more accurate the result will be.
- Cognography.xyz
- Cognography.xyz
2. Cognography – FAQ (Lite Version)
- What is Cognography?
A Cognitive Positioning System (CPS) that maps Perception, Judgment, and Structure into 27 coordinates — showing how the mind moves and organizes experience.
- Am I stuck in one box?
No. Think of it like a formation in sport: structured positions, but always in motion. Cognition adapts dynamically.
- What does “where we sit in relation” mean?
It’s conceptual. Some types take a broad, top-layer view; others focus on concrete, ground-level detail. Both perspectives matter.
- “That’s not how I think.”
Variation is expected. Some minds are highly structured; others are looser. Cognography makes patterns visible — not prescriptive.
- Why would this system be valid?
How we organize thought mirrors how we organize life. Different structures, same goal: workable navigation.
- Why build it?
To give a clear, reusable scaffold for cognition — like anatomy provides foundations for art.
- What is “map and map reader”?
The map is the 27-coordinate grid; the reader is BODIN, which interprets and interacts with it.
- Why use AI?
Because cognition is dynamic. AI adapts to your context instead of remaining static like text-only guides.
- Why is context important?
Without context, meaning collapses. Cognography restores enough context to compare perceptions and judgments fairly.
- What does it actually map?
Three core functions: Perception, Judgment, Structure.
- What are Triforms?
Triforms are the three golden blocks on each coordinate face that indicate orientation:
- Blocks to the left → engaged with the outer world; adaptable and present-focused.
- Blocks to the right → engaged with the inner world; reflective and inward-focused.
- Blocks in the centre → balanced between inner and outer.
Triforms are dynamic. Under stress, their position can shift (e.g., from right to left within the grid).
- Why are all coordinates the same colour?
To emphasise cognitive inclusivity — visualizing differences without hierarchy.
- Is this a personality quiz?
No. It focuses on the structural sequence of cognition rather than traits.
- Is it scientifically proven?
It draws on a century of cognitive psychology and expresses it as a visual, interactive framework rather than a book.
- How do I find my coordinate?
Start with the three-question test in BODIN. Add contextual detail — experiences, decisions, reflections — to refine accuracy.
- How accurate is it?
It scales with your effort. More context yields a clearer, more precise mapping.
